"This year for our annual summer holiday, our family decided to do something just a little bit different. We booked an Alaska Fishing Holiday on the Kenai Peninsula . We found the guys at Drift Away, who gave us no end of helpful suggestions on how we might best structure our fishing holiday and also gave us lots of information on where to stay and what else there is to do in Alaska.

We finally decided to spend our holiday at a small vacation rental near Soldatna and booked a 7 night stay, with 3 days set aside for fishing. This gave us a convenient location and plenty of time to explore our surroundings. We had a great fishing trip and then spent some time getting familiar with the rest of Alaska. We traveled to Homer and walked the beaches of the four mile long Homer Spit. We went digging for razor clams in Clam Gulch. We also traveled into the mountains of the Chugach National Forest and saw the shores of Kenai Lake on our way to visit the docks of Seward.

We had a great summer holiday and got in some incredible fishing. The Kenai Peninsula has a lot to offer holiday visitors. The people are friendly and the scenery is absolutely incredible. Thanks to the crew at Drift Away, our fishing holiday in Alaska was a resounding success. We’ll be back next year to do it again.
