We arrive at the morning rendezvous, ready for our fly fishing trip on the
Kenai River. The late summer morning is brisk. Some of us are still rubbing sleep from their eyes, some are anxious to start our fishing trip. Our guide, Jeremy, seems really friendly is ready to get out on the water |

As we drive down the dirt road towards the boat launch, a lake appears before us, surrounded by the mountains and forests of the
Kenai Peninsula. A morning mist hangs over the lake. Boats are backed into the water and gear is loaded aboard |

After a quick orientation with the gear, our guide gives us some quick pointers on correct techniques to fly fish for Rainbow Trout. The guide is quick to offer assistance and patient when we need a little more instruction.

Now, we settle in for a day of Rainbow Trout fly fishing. Jeremy expertly maneuvers the boat, drifting down the river, towards fishing holes filled with the fish that we seek. He knows exactly where the best ones are. We take the boat in to a beach that looks promising and get our lines in the water. |

“Fish On!” breaks the morning’s tranquility. My friend has the first Rainbow of the day on. The reel screams as the fish dances across the top of the water. After a little work and a good deal of finesse, he manages to land the beautiful fish. |

I’ve been working on my fly fishing technique and the practice pays off. Soon I have my own fish on the line. The thrill is electric. Adrenaline rushes as I call out, “Fish On!” I manage to land it without too much trouble and take a picture with my trophy fish to show the folks at home. |

By the end of the day we are all happy hunters. We all caught a load of fish and had a great time doing it. Thanks to our guide, Jeremy, our fly fishing trip to
Alaska has fulfilled all our hopes and expectations. We don't want this day to end. |
